We Love Winter

On the way to fill the birdfeeders. In the winter we enjoy watching cardinals, juncos, chickadees, and woodpeckers get their due. This was taken after a light snow earlier in December.
We drove through a pretty nasty snowstorm to get home from Columbus Sunday afternoon. When we got home we found about 4" of snow on the ground. Caleb wears his boots around the house waiting for someone to take him outside!
We brought back my parents' log splitter to help with our woodpile processing. Things will go much faster now! The woodstove is another very enjoyable aspect of winter.
This winter we have a new source of entertainment: gathering eggs. The game is to see if you can find them before they freeze! Here is a picture of our 6 beautiful ladies in their winter quarters. On nice days we can let them free range outside, which they enjoy immensely.
