Caleb health update

We met with the pediatric urologist last week to get an explanation of what they've found with all of their testing. Both of Caleb's kidneys have excess fluid. They determined that on one side this is due to a most likely temporary constriction in the tube draining into the bladder. The other side is due to reflux of fluid from the bladder back up to the kidney. He has grade 4 out of 5 on that side. This means that he has a slim chance of spontaneous recovery. However, they will try to give him that chance before doing surgery. We will keep watching his kidney function with tests, and giving him antibiotics to prevent urinary tract infections, while we wait to see if it improves. If not, we're looking at surgery, probably at around 2-3 years old, unless he has problems in the meantime. Thanks for your continued concern and prayers for Caleb.
